PPI’s Don’t Stop Acid Reflux From Recurring
A recent survey has found that nearly 40% of sufferers who take daily PPI’s as prescribed by their doctors continue to experience acid reflux symptoms and have to take OTC antacids as well.

Persistent GERD Leading to More Hospitalizations
A study carried out for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality discovered that hospitalizations for conditions caused by GERD have increased 103% between 1998 and 2005. These results confirm the importance of getting GERD diagnosed and symptoms under control.

Overweight Females at Risk of GERD
The results of a study published in the World Journal of Gastroenterology has identified a correlation between being overweight and suffering from GERD in women. It is thought that hormones may play a role in why overweight women are affected more than overweight men.
